- Get your ingredients together. You’ll need:
– 1 liter of kombucha (or about half a gallon)
– 2 tablespoons dried elderberry powder (you can find this at most health food stores)
- Heat up the water in a small pot until it’s just under boiling point (about 180 degrees Fahrenheit). Then add the elderberry powder and stir until it dissolves completely. Once it’s dissolved, remove from heat and allow to cool completely before using in the next step.
- Pour your kombucha into a clean glass jar or container with an airlock lid on top (this allows oxygen in, but keeps out bugs and other undesirables). Add the elderberry tea mixture to your container, then seal it tight and allow it to sit for 24 hours at room temperature (72 degrees F).
